Won’t you take a wander with me to explore the new Ramada By Wyndham Bangkok Sukhumvit 87? This hotel opened on 1st March with 200 rooms and suites.
We will find panoramic city views at this most modern of hotels. Their duplex rooms, the stunning rooftop garden and the Pesto Italian restaurant are sure to please. The mixed-use condo building is designed to make living easy and relaxing, for both hotel guests and residents.

Location
Located close to On-Nut BTS station in Bangkok’s central business district, the Ramada By Wyndham Bangkok Sukhumvit 87 is convenient for those seeking an upper Sukhumvit stay.
This hotel is a great choice for those wanting easy access to BITEC Convention Centre, less than 6 km by car, or only four stops (12 minutes) from On Nut BTS to Bang Na.
This Ramada By Wyndham is found on Sukhumvit Road, just down from Century Plaza Shopping Mall with the Lotus’s hypermarket opposite, everything sure is pretty handy here.
Lobby & Design
The lobby is full of natural light and bright on account of the double-height windows, which were open on our arrival creating a breezy indoor-outdoor feel. With a variety of seating options for the comfort of guests and visitors, it’s a welcoming arrival space.
Outdoor Swimming Pool
The ground floor outdoor swimming pool surrounded by trees and greenery gives a resort-style entrance to the property.
Branded Residence
Ramada by Wyndham also offers long stay guests a Branded Residence option. Branded Residence provides residents with a hassle-free full hotel service and experience.
Upstairs lounge
Up a winding staircase, you’ll find a gem of an elegantly designed multi-purpose room, perfect for a casual meeting space with friends and colleagues or a co-working space.
You can absolutely see why guests come for a night or two and stay to become residents here. BUT wait there’s more to come!
Standard Duplex
I was excited to find I’d been allocated a Duplex room. There is something mega posh about climbing the stairs to your hotel bed don’t you think? Although those who use the bathroom during the night might find the downstairs bathroom inconvenient.
As in all areas of Ramada by Wyndham Bangkok, natural light comes streaming in from the double-height windows. From my room, I am perfectly placed to watch the BTS trains glide on their overhead tracks above Sukhumvit road traffic. The soundproofing was excellent, so no noise worries here.
Bedroom & Work Space
Upstairs is a spacious bedroom with a queen-sized bed with one solitary beige and grey cushion. There’s a wardrobe and a wall-facing work desk with power sockets. The only mild inconvenience is that the bedside table and lamp do not fit beside the bed. So you had to get in/out of bed to use. I feel like wall-mounted side lights would easily solve this issue.
The bedroom has a separate air conditioning unit.
Kitchen/Dining Space
You’ll find a galley kitchenette with a sink. A two ring electric hob and a microwave oven with cooking supplies; a chopping board and knives, a new saucepan and frying pan, a drip coffee machine and an Electrolux fridge. A fruit platter sits attractively on the small dining room table with two chairs.
The washing machine is neatly found under the stairs along with a storage shelf where the slippers are found.
LIVING SPACE
Two-person sofa with green floral cushions faces the 55-inch flat-screen HDTV for all your Netflix and Youtube options.
Bathroom
The large attractive bathroom has yellow lighting, which I liked it was fun! There is a large walk-in rain shower with white tiles, a make-up magnifier mirror (yay!) and everything is spotlessly clean. Together with a toothbrush see below that’s me well covered!Â
Pesto Restaurant – Pasta and Espresso Osteria
For breakfast and delicious Italian favourites for lunch and dinner. Pesto also offer room service options for breakfast in bed or dinner.
This Italian restaurant is good value. The food is lovely, beautifully presented with edible flowers and the portions size are large. We did joke that the chef clearly likes rocket salad leaves as we had them with everything.
Pesto has quickly gained a reputation for being the best Italian in the neighbourhood according to the favourable Google reviews.
Breakfast
The breakfast menu was a choice of Croque Madame and Cheesy Omelette amongst others. I choose well with the Signature Pesto Breakfast of scrambled egg with rocket grilled mushrooms and tomatoes with toast, orange juice and coffee.
LUNCH/DINNER
The Pesto restaurant was a popular hangout whilst we were there for a ladies’ lunch. The special of the day offers ‘Any 3 Dishes from the Wednesday Menu for 300 Baht net’ 11 am – 9 pmÂ
This gives you the choice of the following:
Snacks: Bruschetta with Pesto Sauce/Mushroom/tomato, Deep Fried Calamari
Soup and salads: Pumpkin or Champignon Cream Soup. Prosciutto Salad or Iceberg lettuce Salad
Pizza and pasta: Anchovy/Mushroom or Italian Sausage, or choice of Spaghetti. Fettuccine, Pappardelle, Fusili, and Potato Gnocchi
Meat: Roasted Seabass, Chicken Parmigiana
Mezzanine Level
Co-Kitchen space
The co kitchen space is available to book. What a great idea and a wonderful option to invite friends or work colleagues over and cook a meal together.
Technogym Gym
Open 24/7 for hotel and long stay guests with incredible views of Bangkok with a dedicated yoga room
Sky Bar Roof Top GardenÂ
Up on floor 26, we found the Sky Bar and Rooftop Graden with panoramic views of Bangkok. The seating offers extensive views of the city and Chao Praya river. A lovely place to meet friends and work colleagues. Â
Opening in Q4 2022
Service
It is the service side for both the hotels and the branded residences that Wyndham Hotel Group pride itself on. They have 83 million enrolled members in their Wyndhams Reward loyalty program for that very reason! I found the staff here eager to please,
I’m staying just days after the Thai rapper Milli’s Coachella performance and Khun Pam and I were talking about the mango sticky rice frenzy. What do I find in my room on arrival? Yes, you guessed it some of the incredible Mango sticky rice. Thank you Khun Pam!
Value for money
The leisure traveller you will find this authentic area of Bangkok offers a more affordable stay than the traditional touristic area Asoke/Nana/Ploenchit of Bangkok, a direct BTS train ride away (12 minutes to Nana BTS)Â

In the Area:
On-Nut is known as an area on the rise, it has been especially attractive for those looking to have a more affordable housing option, with direct public transport access to the central Bangkok areas of Nana/Asoke and Ploenchit.
Jim Thompson Outlet Centre
It’s a 10 min walk (700m) to the Jim Thompson Factory outlet on Soi Sukhumvit 93. This has always been one of my favourite Bangkok experiences for their silk clothes & accessories offered at discounted prices in a vast workshop & showroom
ArtTitude Gallery and Tea House
It’s an 8 minute wander to this tucked away tea room which serves up a variety of teas in a small and cozy cafe.
The Wood Land Cafe
Found on Sukhumvit 52 the Wood Land Cafe is also new in the area. It’s an outdoor cafe made from reclaimed wood and open for coffee and deserts daily
Pimmalai Spa
Comes highly recommended by several sources, sadly I have yet to try it but do let me know if you do go and walk you think.
Overall experience
I liked the home away from home experience here at the new Ramada By Wyndham Bangkok Sukhumvit 87. On Nut, is not an area of Bangkok I know well, it was fun for a couple of days exploring and with great BTS access.
The hotel appeals to a wide range of people. if you come for a night or two, you’d be very comfortable staying for a while, a long while.
In fact, I might just stay forever. But I can’t stop long, I have one more hotel to show you! See next post!
