Dami Im wins the Eurovision frock contest!<\/span><\/h3>\n

There’s none so funny as life itself…<\/span><\/b><\/h3>\n
Within weeks of Britain voting on whether it wants to remain in the European Union, Australia it appears, quietly snuck in through the backdoor.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n
<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n
And with a massive 12 points all round <\/span><\/div>\n
Our Sunrise breakfast TV was calling it as a <\/span><\/div>\n
‘Dami Im victory<\/b><\/i>‘ <\/span>in Eurovision2016…<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
That was until the popular vote came in.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n
At the point of ‘By Jove, I think she’s done it’<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
Dami was interviewed and asked what she would do if or when she won?<\/span><\/div>\n
Her reply, that she would ‘have a lemonade’ with her support crew,<\/span><\/div>\n
had us all Down Under rushing to the morning-after-the-night-before fridge <\/span><\/div>\n
to see <\/span>if by chance we had any lemonade <\/span>to celebrate with her – fat chance!<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Put the Aussie flag up we’ve won Eurovision …. no take it down!<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
For those in the know, The Eurovision Song contest<\/span><\/div>\n
it has been around for 60 plus years. <\/span><\/div>\n
It is the European singing competition featuring<\/span><\/div>\n
 a great deal of mickey taking, some outrageous backing singers, <\/span>
some highly questionable outfits and maybe even a fiddle or two.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n
It was one of the most important days on the drinking calendar….<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n
Look okay in Australia, we are as bemused as anyone,<\/span><\/div>\n
 as to how we should get into Eurovision? For the second time, no less!<\/span><\/div>\n
Let alone be on the cusp of winning the thing. <\/span><\/div>\n
Australians were not brought up on the Terry Wogan jokes <\/span><\/div>\n
and <\/span>his ‘nul point’ quips.’ We were as the hashtags proudly pronounce are #inittowinit!<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

If you were watching Eurovision tonight you would have seen<\/span><\/div>\n
Dami Im our  ex X-Factor winner belting out with gusto her <\/span>
‘Sound of Silence’ song <\/span>
Our beautiful songstress in that frock that she couldn’t move in.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n
Back in Australia we’re waking to the breaking news!<\/span>
We cut to the 8am newsheadlines and the big announcement that Dami Im<\/span><\/div>\n
has lost out in the popular vote. What?????<\/span><\/div>\n
Where were the BoatyMcBoatface voters <\/span>when we needed them?<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n
Oh, of course, <\/span>they were off their faces <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
having had one too many in the drinking games…<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n
So we last see Dami, sobbing into her frock<\/span><\/div>\n
‘I don’t understand what happened?’<\/i> she says.<\/span><\/div>\n

Ermm welcome to Eurovision2016 Dami.<\/span><\/div>\n
