text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">in the Dandenong Ranges National Park.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">It is a thirty minute drive from Melbourne&#8217;s South Eastern suburbs.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">It&#8217;s only for those who are reasonably fit,<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">or happy to have their heart pounding very fast!<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">Even the walk from the car park to the first step<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">&nbsp;is at such a steep incline&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">that us novice climbers wonder&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">whether this is really such a good idea?!<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">Luckily there is much to stop and look at,&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">which gives us time to draw breath!<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">and as you climb you start to experience some of the feeling of&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><span style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">exhaustion<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">&nbsp;felt by the Australian soldiers&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">on the Kokoda Trail in&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">Papua New Guinea in World War 11.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">Before you leave the car park you can stop at the memorial which&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">has plaques containing names of the soldiers who fought and died on the trail during the kokoda campaign in 1942.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/-A6NnSiM9EJ8\/U43DoAzIgVI\/AAAAAAAACxE\/JSxfuqY9STQ\/s1600\/1000%2Bsteps3.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\"  style=\"margin-left: 1em; text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">you&#8217;d be telling anyone who&#8217;d listen &#8220;Great view&#8221;&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">It is no wonder that this is the most popular track&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">at Mount Dandenong.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">The track is busy, so wildlife is limited<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">but the tree ferns and manna gum and blackwood are spectacular!<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/-xLE3w4gPr5A\/U424w5bujXI\/AAAAAAAACwo\/MmJCWGybnn0\/s1600\/1000%2Bsteps%2B6.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\"  style=\"margin-left: 1em; text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">along the route every 250m is marked.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">We take the newer trial and there is the option to walk up without the steps.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">We positively skip back down!<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both;
