People look at you a bit weird <\/span><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

when you tell them you’re off to Bangkok at the moment…<\/div>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n
You know the sort of look that says:<\/span><\/div>\n
“well you clearly love adventure holidays!”<\/span>

<\/span><\/div>\n
\n\n\n\n\n
<\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Tuk Tuks – still the best fun way to travel!<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n
It was fine!<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
I can report Bangkok is steamy hot, stormy and <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
extremely quiet.<\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
On account of most tourists heeding many governments’ <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
advice to <\/span><\/span>exercise a high degree of caution<\/a>!<\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/span>Indeed most local people we meet are unperturbed<\/span><\/span>
by as they call it ‘just another coup<\/i>‘.<\/span><\/span>
It is, they explain, just the way Thailand sorts things out <\/span><\/span>
when neither party are strong enough to take control <\/span><\/span>
the <\/span><\/span>political democratic way…<\/span>

<\/span>Yes life in Thailand is very different to my<\/span><\/span>
all mod cons lifestyle in Australia<\/span><\/span>
and that is why I love to visit.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Living on the water<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n
That and the Thai people <\/span>who we love!<\/span>
They have to be one of the loveliest, smiliest nations…<\/span>

<\/span>We had some lovely conversations especially over some of the lovely <\/span>
Western names <\/span>the waiters and waitresses had selected.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/h3>\n

<\/p>\n
One gorgeous waitress was called Cake.<\/span><\/span>
‘Ohh, that is my sort of name,<\/i><\/span><\/span>
Why did you choose Cake?’ <\/i><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
 Her friends called her pancake <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
because of her round face she told us.<\/span><\/span>
Yep, that would work for me too!<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
Up at the crack of dawn for our bicycle tour <\/span><\/span>
I asked my DH if he’d ordered the coffee?’<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
‘Yes, Night is coming’ he replied with a straight face…<\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/span>Or ‘where’s the taxi?’<\/i><\/span><\/span>
‘Moss is stuck in traffic<\/i>!’<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

The loveliest people…<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n


<\/span>Now we have been lucky enough to have been frequent visitors to Bangkok<\/span><\/div>\n

so we didn’t feel the need to rush out and visit every temple <\/span><\/div>\n
or go to the Grand Palace again.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n
Although I didn’t stop us from asking silly questions of the guide:<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
‘what do you call that temple?!’<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
All temples are called Wat, <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
although I know you already knew that…<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
We chuckled for hours about that one!<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Instead we chose to do the Amazing Bangkok Cycle<\/span><\/div>\n
one of my favourite Bangkok tours, which Tim had never done.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n
We cycled through the backstreets of Bangkok,<\/span><\/div>\n
through some market areas and poor housing districts<\/span><\/div>\n
before loading the bikes on a Sampan and crossing to the other side<\/span>
of the Chao Phraya river and exploring the park lands.<\/span>

<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Later that evening we relax with cocktails before dinner <\/span>
at Saffron at the Banyan Tree<\/span>

Oh yes, this is the life<\/div>\n
We are happy to be on holiday in Bangkok!<\/div>\n
