The exciting news is that\u00a0after one of the strictest lockdowns, Bali is back! Two hundred and two people, including Eighty-eight Australians, were killed in the first of two terrorist attacks. <strong><em>Tourist numbers plummeted.<\/em><\/strong><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Add in the pesky volcano <span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Mount Agung which periodically spews and causes chaos. Ash from the volcano disrupts flights and airport operations. Headlines in 2017 <\/span><em><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Holidaymakers are stranded.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Australian Government travel advice continued to suggest to <a style=\"font-size: 14px;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smartraveller.gov.au\/consular-services\/travel-advice-explained#level2\">Exercise a high degree of caution<\/a><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">\u00a0in Indonesia overall due to:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>security risks<\/li>\n<li>the impacts of COVID-19<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"My_Bali_Holidays\"><\/span>My Bali Holidays<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>I first travelled to Bali in 1991 as part of a gap year after finding myself sick of the corporate hampster wheel. Those paddy fields of Ubud were a highlight in a year of global travel.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>We stayed away for many years too following the Bali bombings, preferring elsewhere in Asia, for our family holidays until a yoga holiday in 2014 which I repeated again in 2015.<\/p>\n<p>In 2019 I returned for a Fitcation with some friends from my Aussie Gym. All were amazing holidays, with happy memories.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">I hope this extract from this previous Bali holiday gives you a little taste of the delights of Bali.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>Imagine my great excitement riding on the back of a scooter,\u00a0on my crazy \u2018<i>Eat, Pray, Love\u2019<\/i>\u00a0adventure, to visit a lady who hands me a photo of myself with not a stitch on\u2026<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>I hope you\u2019re not about to censor me, but you&#8217;re about to see I\u2019m completely butt naked.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>This ultimately requires a blue necklace. But just look at all my pretty colours.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Anyway the complete long and the short of it is that my energy levels are good but my throat chakra needs a bit of work, but in every woman\u2019s dream, my yoga teacher said that if I wore a blue necklace that would help. Big Time!<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>So the next day I\u2019m out braving the humidity,\u00a0for a bit of jewellery shopping and here is a picture of me wearing my new blue sapphire\u00a0and lapis lazuli necklace!
