I have loved living in many places,<\/span> but for the moment we call Melbourne home!<\/span> <\/span><\/b><\/p>\n
Somewhere along the journey of life<\/span>
 I morphed from a country lass <\/span>
growing up in the UK,<\/span>
into an Aussie city girl.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n
I imagined that moving to Australia <\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
would involve spacious living with huge gardens.<\/span>
Wrong! <\/span>
Well maybe for some people, but not for us…<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
<\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
A typical house in our neighbourhood<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n
Instead I live squashed in, <\/span>
in prime real estate <\/span>in the leafy suburbs.<\/span>
Our area is one of weatherboard houses and cottage gardens.<\/span>
I’m not complaining.<\/span>

<\/span>Melbourne’s reputation as one of the <\/b><\/span>
world’s most liveable city <\/span>is well deserved.<\/span><\/b>

<\/span>I love the convenience of city living.<\/span><\/div>\n
Most things I need are within a ten minute drive<\/span><\/div>\n
school – kids sports – yoga – writing class<\/span>

<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
<\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
My son’s school sports fields<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n
Somethings are on my doorstep<\/span><\/div>\n
shops – post office – parks. <\/span>

<\/span>A decent coffee <\/span>
is always just around the corner.<\/span>
Melbourne’s cafe culture <\/span>
is part of the fabric of life here.<\/span>

<\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
City trains run every 10-20 minutes<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n
I can walk five minutes to two train stations<\/span>
and the tram is a ten minute walk.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
<\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Trams are part of the fabric of Melbourne’s transport system<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n
If I walk one way out of my front gate I get to a park<\/span><\/div>\n
If I walk the other way I get to another park <\/span>
and a bike track into the city.<\/span>
(there are 670 Km’s of bike tracks in Melbourne)<\/span>

<\/span>In fact walk in any direction <\/span>
and you will generally find a park in Melbourne<\/span>
with kids playgrounds, sports fields and tennis courts!<\/span>

<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

Melbourne is renown for it’s parks<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n
We are a twenty minute drive into Melbourne’s CDB<\/span><\/div>\n
It’s easy if we want a foodie’s night in town.<\/span>
Melbourne is so multi-cultural you are spoiled for culinary choice.<\/span>

<\/span>Or a visit to the theatre, <\/span>
or perhaps have a laugh at the Melbourne Comedy Festival<\/span><\/div>\n
or even attend a concert, all the big Pop stars come here.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
<\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

If sports your thing, as it is for us, then it’s non stop action<\/span>
 when it comes to big sporting events.<\/span><\/div>\n
Melbourne is home of the Australian Open Tennis in January<\/span>
we can hear the dim roar of the Formula One racing cars <\/span>
racing around Albert Park <\/span>
for the Australian Grand Prix in March,<\/span>
and so the year goes on…<\/span>

<\/span><\/div>\n
We can support Australia and sometimes England<\/span><\/div>\n
 playing cricket at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.<\/span>
The Boxing Day test match is a Melbourne must do.<\/span>
The MCG can fit a cheering crowd of over 100,000 people <\/span>

<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

Of course the first thing you need is a footy team to barrack for<\/span>
We cheer on our favourite AFL Footy Team, Hawthorn.<\/span><\/div>\n
They don’t call Melbourne the Sporting capital of Australia<\/b> for nothing!<\/span>

<\/span><\/div>\n
We’ve got – Rugby – Soccer<\/span>
 Basketball – Swimming – Hockey – Golf etc etc<\/span>
Or if horse racing takes your fancy,<\/span>
then the Spring Racing Carnival and Melbourne Cup Festival is a must.<\/span>

<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
<\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
A day at the races for Spring Racing Carnival is a not-to-be-missed event<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n
There are so many festivals:<\/span>
Moomba, Food and Wine<\/span><\/div>\n
You need never be bored in Melbourne.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/b><\/span>And don’t get us started on the shopping…<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n

If its art and architecture that you love <\/span><\/div>\n
you’ll find plenty to admire here.<\/span><\/div>\n
Our street art is on every corner and all around.<\/span><\/div>\n

If you fancy beach life we have that covered too!<\/span><\/div>\n

We have the choice of city beaches and<\/span>
coastal beaches all within an hours drive<\/span>
of home.<\/span>

We don’t perhaps have the WOW factor of Sydney <\/span><\/div>\n
with the Opera house and beautiful harbour<\/span><\/div>\n
but boy is it an easy city to live in<\/span><\/div>\n
with plenty to see and do.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
