soaring above the rest"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">There is a house in Footscray which stands out.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">It is a rather brash and possibly underneath it all,&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">quite an ordinary house.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">You cannot ignore it.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">It always reminds me of my&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">daughter&#8217;s soccer team&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"><b>Boroondara Eagles FC.<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">BEFC is way over on the other side of town in the leafy suburbs.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/-9sTPPw1jNH4\/VClQF4T7DGI\/AAAAAAAAERc\/eXoeyCOMkHw\/s1600\/Eagles.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\"  style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/-9sTPPw1jNH4\/VClQF4T7DGI\/AAAAAAAAERc\/eXoeyCOMkHw\/s1600\/Eagles.jpg?resize=640%2C340\" height=\"340\" width=\"640\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">The Women&#8217;s team have been promoted each year&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">since starting in the State League.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">They are a young team the majority are U21.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">In 2014 they made it to the dizzy heights of&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">Women&#8217;s Premier League.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">That is one massive step up.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">Now normally what happens is that players<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">take a while to adjust to the faster, more physical game.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">They can feel quite over awed at playing against more experienced players<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">some who have played for their national teams,<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">or those who are returning from playing&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">college soccer in America.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">It can be a brutal introduction.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">The sport is a brilliant one for girls<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">but if you are not up to it,<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">you will be punished.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">Sadly many teams go back down&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">as quickly as they arrive.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">Not our girls!<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">With some clever recruitment,&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">some serious training,<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">and a lot of heart<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">Boroondara Eagles FC have just ended the season&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">in third place on the Women&#8217;s Premier League ladder.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">Not at all bad for a team whose main aim for the season&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">was to be competitive and avoid relegation!<\/span><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both;
