Today will you join me for a Russian wander as part of the Blogging from A-Z Challenge?<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">It&#8217;s only a game. No, it&#8217;s not! Quite how a gorgeous young Russian female teacher ended up at an all-boys school and sparked mass interest in Russian Studies is material for another post, but it did come in useful. It was great having a smattering of Russian to say hello, thank you and to find our way out of the Metro stations!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Somehow whilst my youth engaged interest in Communism across the globe, with books on Marx and Lenin. I have already shown how the football side of the organisation was superb, but this city was cleaner than Salisbury after it\u2019s clean-up operation. (sorry bad taste joke) but really not only was every pavement literally washed and scrubbed till it looked like marble. Any very slightly ugly, or building under construction or with renovations were shrouded in a cloth. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span class=\"s1\"><b><i>The city looked pristine. I felt like a bit of a scaredy-cat, but in my defence, plenty of countries were issuing \u2018beware\u2019 warnings. They had sold 36,000 tickets to Australians &#8211; we love our sport! I felt safe in the arms of the world\u2019s football family. Let\u2019s face it they did not look like murderous Hooligans &#8211; more like the middle-class rugby lads on tour. I arrived on my own and found it an easy and quick way to get into the city arriving at the r<span class=\"s1\">ailway station \u201cBelarussiya.<\/span><\/p>\n<h6><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Metro_Tour\"><\/span><span class=\"s1\"><b>Metro Tour:<\/b> <\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h6>\n<p><span class=\"s1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/moscowfreetour.com\/#metro2\"><span class=\"s2\">http:\/\/moscowfreetour.com\/#metro2<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Getting around on the Metro public transport, is part convenience, part museum tour. It has been said that the Moscow Subway is the most beautiful in the world they are full of mosaics and statues, it is worth the trip.
