We have attended office Christmas parties in\u00a0<\/span>
\nSydney,\u00a0<\/span>Melbourne and Auckland this year.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
<\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Auckland shopping<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n
\n

Each location was vying to see who could impress most\u00a0<\/span>
\nto have\u00a0<\/span>the most fun\u00a0<\/span>on a limited budget.<\/span>
\nIt was great to see how different each event was.<\/span>
\n
\n<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
<\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Auckland Symphony Orchestra carols at the Town Hall<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
Sydney got off to an um rather spectacular start\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
with the naked man on the balcony<\/a><\/span><\/div>\n
followed by a Brazilian BBQ at Darling Harbour.<\/span><\/div>\n
I’m not quite sure that combination of words sounds right either…<\/span><\/div>\n
\n

But that’s where we went and what we ate!!<\/span>
\n
\n<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
<\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Melbourne’s party was a band in a garage<\/span><\/div>\n
all hip and trendy.\u00a0<\/span>
\nIt was fantastic, although rather too much\u00a0<\/span>
\nlike corporate speed dating for me.<\/span>
\n
\n<\/span><\/div>\n
I had 60 seconds in between very loud music\u00a0<\/span>
\nto talk to people\u00a0<\/span>I’d never met before<\/span><\/div>\n
\n

before the next song drowned out all hope of conversation.<\/span>
\n
\n<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
<\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Albert Park, Auckland<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n
Everyone in the office had chosen their favourite song.<\/span><\/div>\n
Great idea, except I didn’t have a song.<\/span><\/div>\n

New Zealand’s christmas pohutakawa flower bursts forth<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
Music, or lack of knowledge of it,<\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0can really make you feel like an outsider.<\/span><\/div>\n
Forgive me for being a boring Pom, but\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n

I know, I know all you Aussies and Americans are shouting\u00a0<\/span>
\nWhat? where were you?<\/i><\/span>
\nI must have been under a\u00a0<\/span>
\nBlondie<\/i> rock\u00a0<\/span>at the time…<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Give me a “Come on\u00a0Eileen<\/i>‘ or even ‘I will Survive’<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
and I would have been the first on the dance floor…<\/span>
\n
\n<\/span>Just ‘beam me up Scottie’<\/i>!<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

<\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Auckland’s Sky Tower dominates the city<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n
\n

Auckland is a great, if somewhat hilly, place to explore.<\/span>
\nFrom the fabulous Light Show at the Auckland Art Gallery<\/span>
\nto Auckland Symphony Orchestra carols at the Town Hall.<\/span>
\nWe had a blast!<\/span>
\n
\n<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
<\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Auckland harbour side<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Oh and the office Christmas party?<\/span>
\nAuckland decided to go sophisticated\u00a0<\/span>
\nwith dinner at the harbour<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
