2014 was supposed to be a quiet year!<\/span><\/div>\n
A year in which we were mostly Australia based<\/span><\/div>\n
whilst our youngest finished off school life…<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/a><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n
In the end Little Wandering Wren<\/span><\/div>\n
didn’t do too badly keeping her frequent flyer points up<\/span><\/div>\n
with trips to <\/span>England, America, Hong Kong, Bali, Thailand, New Zealand.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n
<\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Bangkok waterways July 2014<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
With two of the three kids now at university<\/span><\/div>\n
their Third Culture Kid upbringing<\/span><\/div>\n
was never going to keep them in the nest for too long.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n
We lived vicariously through their adventures in 2014 <\/span><\/div>\n
in Africa, Europe <\/span>and the United States of America…<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

I will remember 2014 for the people I met. <\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n
Whether it was reconnecting with family in the UK or US,<\/span><\/div>\n
 or catching up with friends in Hong Kong, Thailand and New Zealand,<\/span><\/div>\n
or the courageous men and women <\/span><\/div>\n
from all over the world,<\/span><\/div>\n
 asylum seekers now in Australia, <\/span><\/div>\n
who have enriched my life in so many ways <\/span><\/div>\n
who I meet <\/span>through my volunteer work<\/span>.<\/span><\/div>\n

In 2014 we continued to open our home to visitors from overseas<\/span><\/div>\n
Numbers were down as we tried to keep the house quiet for study<\/span><\/div>\n
even so it was not unusual <\/span><\/div>\n
to find professional sportsman and women <\/span>staying <\/span><\/div>\n
‘Who’s in for dinner’<\/i> the cry goes up?!<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n\n\n\n\n
<\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Australian Open January 2014<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
Through Mum’s Youth Hostel, as the kids call it <\/span><\/div>\n
we<\/span> also welcomed eleven lovely Japanese students<\/span><\/div>\n
to stay… <\/span><\/div>\n

<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
<\/div>\n
When overseas travel was limited <\/span><\/div>\n
we enjoyed exploring our local area…<\/span><\/div>\n
Whether it was the local walks<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/a><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Or at the beach<\/span>

<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/a><\/div>\n

<\/div>\n

Of course the Crazy Poodle and friends<\/span><\/div>\n
have continued to give us endless pleasure<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/a><\/div>\n
Looking forward to 2015<\/span><\/div>\n
It is stacking up to be a big year on the travel front.<\/span><\/div>\n
Especially as my DH bought me for Christmas <\/span><\/div>\n
 a one way ticket to Paris …<\/span><\/div>\n
