Hello everyone, lovely to see you again as we wander Victoria*<\/span>
Today I’m taking you back to the magnificent town of Marysville.<\/span>
As it deserves our extra attention as despite being almost completely destroyed in the 2009 Black Saturday bushfires, the town is thriving and reviving<\/span>
 and <\/span>in need of our tourism support.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

One of the things I love about a trip to Marysville <\/span>is the 30 Km Black Spur drive into the town from Healesville. Hang on tight as this road takes plenty of twists and turns but on every bend, the ‘wows’ get better and better. <\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n
I love this view of the trees taken through the sun roof, don’t you? <\/span><\/div>\n
It is surely one of Victoria’s most spectacular drives, <\/span><\/div>\n
winding as it does through the lush rainforests with its <\/span><\/div>\n
humongous trees and ferns.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n
The Marysville Tourist Information centre is a great place to start, it is easily found on the main street and aside from information on the local area and a small gift shop, and the small, not to be missed Phoenix museum. <\/span><\/div>\n

The Phoenix museum shares first-hand accounts of Black Saturday.<\/span><\/div>\n
The day in February 2009, when <\/span>Australia’s worst bushfire <\/a>swept through the town. Forty-five<\/span> people in Marysville alone lost their lives that day <\/span><\/div>\n
and most of the buildings destroyed.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Next stop for us is the nearby Bruno’s Art and Garden museum. This was one of the <\/span>highlights<\/span> of our time in Marysville and full details can be read <\/span>here<\/a>.<\/div>\n

The whole area is a great one for hiking. <\/span><\/div>\n
We chose to visit the iconic Steavenson Falls <\/span><\/div>\n
which is an easy walk and even after a long hot summer, very beautiful.<\/span><\/div>\n
